Translation and adaptation for dubbing and voice-over for dubbing studios. The translation can be from Brazilian Portuguese to English or from English to Brazilian Portuguese, which is the linguistic pair I work with the most in this service. I translate films and series of various genres. The tools I use are Word, Excel, or the client's platform. Some factors that guide the work include the original speaking time, the context of the dialogue, characters’ emotions (e.g., crying), pauses, and register (formal or informal). I keep the communication channel open all the time with the studio, as this is essential for creating a script that helps project managers, directors, voice actors, and technicians during these final stages of post-production. Clients served are from the entertainment industry and individuals in need of subtitling for lectures on marketing and education. I subtitle from English into Brazilian Portuguese and vice versa. I translate on Subtitle Edit or on the client's platform. I can create subtitles from scratch, meaning doing timing services, segmentation into subtitles, and translation. Alternatively, I can create just the subtitle template, or I can subtitle based on a template created by another professional. There's also a third option: the combo of timing + subtitling + burning. I want to leverage my background as an audiovisual and marketing translator (and my reader background!) in editorial translation. I intend to work with independent authors of books featuring LGBTQIA+ protagonists written in Brazilian Portuguese or English. Additionally, I aim to collaborate with publishers releasing books with LGBTQIA+ characters for people in any age group. Throughout the entire translation process, I keep an open dialogue with authors or editors to ensure that my work conveys the ideas of the original text without making it obvious for the reader that it is a translation.
