Board Game Localization - “Good Little Martian”

In August 2021, I translated and localized the “Good Little Martian” board game as a challenge posed by both Translators 101 and Rook. I’d never localized a game, so I learned a bunch of new and cool stuff. The greatest challenge was using inclusive language. For instance, “player” is often translated in games as “jogador”. To avoid the masculine gender, I used “pessoa de Marte” and “pessoa da Terra”, but I don’t think they were the best solutions. A more natural one would be “jogadore”. And what did I do best? Beyond any doubt, I followed the cards’ character limitation to a T. Check out my work below. To play the game, just download and print it. Have fun!
